Is DigMyPage Patented?

I have applied for a provisional patent. A provisional patent is good for one year and you can use the phrase Patent Pending. Your idea is also protected. However, you need to apply for a full patent application within one year.

What is so novel about DigMyPage that I want to protect it? Before I discuss DigMyPage's novelty, I would like to state a few unique features of the site.

The site offers you a traffic page that is fully customizable. I don't know any free site that offers this level of customization. Even some paid sites will retain their headers, logos, etc.

You can also customize your profile page. Your profile page lists your traffic page and the 10 most recent teaser pages posted by you.

You can invite friends and create your social network just like any other social web sites.

Let me come back to the patent issue. What you see in DigMyPage is a small part of a larger idea that involves thousands of networked machines, machine learning techniques like swarm intelligence, neural network, and reinforcement learning. I cannot discuss the full scope the patent now.

However, I don't have financial means to implement the entire scope of the patent. I have reduced a small part of the patent (those are called claims in patent language) and implemented even a smaller part of that using an open source Content Management System (Drupal) with some custom programming.

The revenue generated from this site will help me pursue my larger goal of implementing other part of the patent.
